Job Summary
Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of curry dishes while maintaining high standards of food hygiene and safety. This role involves learning and perfecting curry preparation techniques under the guidance of senior chefs.
Key ResponsibilitiesCurry 1 (Basic Preparation) :
• Assist in preparing basic ingredients for curry dishes, including chopping, marinating, and grinding spices.
• Learn and execute foundational curry recipes and cooking methods.
• Ensure ingredients are fresh, correctly measured, and prepared according to recipe standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area, including utensils and equipment.
Curry 2 (Advanced Preparation) :
• Work on advanced curry preparation techniques, including blending spices and creating complex flavor profiles.
• Cook main curries under supervision, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Contribute to menu development by suggesting variations or enhancements to curry recipes.
• Support plating and presentation of curry dishes to meet service standards.
General Responsibilities
• Follow all food safety and hygiene standards in the kitchen.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service.
• Report inventory needs and assist with stock rotation for curry ingredients.
• Stay updated on culinary trends and regional variations in curry preparation.
Skills & Qualifications
• Basic culinary training or experience in Indian/Asian cuisine (preferred).
• Passion for learning about spices and curry preparation techniques.
• Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
