Should have executed at least two, medium to large size EPC/FEED projects, as CSA Engineering Group Supervisor in an engineering office or consultancy of repute. Has a broad knowledge of precedents and latest trends in structural engineering, the principles and practices of related technical areas and of coordinating with other technical disciplines. Candidate should have exposure to Indian, US, Euro and other foreign codes/standards and local practices. Proficiency in use of industry standard software including Structural and Finite Element Analysis package such as STAAD Pro / ANSYS / GTStrudl / SAP / SACS etc. is essential.Major Responsibilities:
  • Should have experience as a Lead Engineer managing all Civil / Structural Engineering activities of EPCM Contractors, preferably in a PMC role for mega projects with minimum 20 years of Work experience in Petrochemical / Refinery Industry.
  • Shall have adequate knowledge of latest Indian code requirements and be able to interpret it. Should have hands - on experience of Analysis / Design Tools such as STAADPro or equivalent. Shall be able to identify and perform review of critical structures in the Project to ensure its technical integrity.
  • Shall be able to perform value engineering exercise wherever needed to meet the Project Schedule / Budget.
  • Shall be able to do preliminary designs and quantity estimation for pre-buy of bulk quantities as well as review and formalize SOQ generated by the EPCM contractos.
  • Shall be responsible to monitor and control the Engineering progress of EPCM Contractor and expedite as needed to meet the same. These shall include keeping track of Issue of Engineering deliverables as well as liquidation of bulk quantities like Structural Steel and Concrete.
  • Shall be able to respond to TQ / Deviations on RIL Specs and troubleshoot site issues during project execution.
  • Shall review Package Vendor Drawings / Fabrication Drawing and comment / approve the same as may be the case
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-year degree from an accredited college program in Civil Engineering. Masters degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.
  • Total experience of working in Energy projects for a period of 8 years out of which 4 years as EGS.
  • 18+ years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience of working in an Infrastructure and Energy Projects.
  • Possess a broad understanding of the major design engineering deliverables.
  • Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates detailed phases of engineering work in a project or staff group. Performs work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include complex features such as resolving conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials and/or difficult coordination requirements.
  • Is conversant with use of applicable design codes governing structural steel structures such as Indian Codes, AISC303, AISC360, AISC341, AWS D1.1, RCSC and/or equivalent Euro, Canadian, Australian, Indian codes
  • Performs work using Standard Application Programs and appropriate computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) tools.
  • Coordinates engineering effort in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors and between other groups.
  • Understanding of engineering planning and control methods including computerized methods.
  • Understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects including basic construction practices and the economics involved.
  • Understanding of industry or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria pertinent to the engineering discipline.
  • Skill in oral and written communication and writing technical reports.
