JD for Credit Officer:
Job Purpose: The Credit Officer plays a pivotal role in assessing creditworthiness, evaluating loan applications, and ensuring prudent risk management for the NBFC's lending portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Credit Assessment:
• Evaluate loan applications and assess creditworthiness of applicants based on financial statements, credit history, and other relevant information.
• Conduct thorough analysis of financial data, including cash flow projections, profitability, liquidity, and debt service capabilities.
Risk Management:
• Analyze and mitigate credit risks associated with loan applications through careful evaluation and decision-making.
• Recommend appropriate credit limits, terms, and conditions based on risk assessment and company guidelines.
Documentation and Compliance:
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of loan documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Maintain compliance with NBFC regulations, credit policies, and procedures during the credit approval process.
Customer Relationship Management:
• Communicate credit decisions to applicants and provide explanations regarding terms and conditions.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate smooth loan processing and enhance customer satisfaction.
Monitoring and Reporting:
• Monitor loan portfolio performance, including delinquency and default rates, and take proactive measures to mitigate potential losses.
• Prepare regular reports on credit portfolio quality, trends, and performance metrics for management review.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. (Advanced degree preferred)
• years of experience in credit analysis or lending roles within the financial sector, preferably in an NBFC environment.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements applicable to NBFCs.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, including MS Excel and credit scoring models.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and make informed credit decisions.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate credit decisions clearly and professionally.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
