Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and develop creative ideas for non-fiction film projects, including documentaries, docuseries, and other factual content.
• Collaborate with producers, writers, cinematographers, and other creative professionals to bring concepts to life.
• Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and authenticity in storytelling.
• Oversee all aspects of production, including pre-production planning, on-set direction, and post-production editing.
• Provide creative leadership throughout the production process, ensuring that the vision of the project is maintained from inception to completion.
• Direct and coach talent, including on-camera hosts, interviewees, and voiceover artists, to achieve desired performances.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously innovate and enhance the quality of our productions.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.
• Collaborate with marketing and distribution teams to develop promotional strategies and maximize the reach and impact of our films.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment where creativity thrives and team members feel inspired to contribute their best work.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in film, media production, or a related field (preferred).
• 5 to 8 years of experience in directing non-fiction films, with a proven track record of successful projects.
• Strong creative vision and storytelling abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
• Proficiency with industry-standard filmmaking equipment and software, including cameras, editing software, and visual effects tools.
• A passion for non-fiction storytelling and a deep understanding of the nuances of the genre.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
• Knowledge of legal and ethical considerations related to documentary filmmaking, including copyright and fair use laws.
• A portfolio of past work demonstrating your creative vision and directorial skills in the non-fiction genre.
