Join us as Country Head of Finance, India
• We're looking for a talented CFO who can lead our Finance presence in India, overseeing Finance for NatWest Digital Services India Private Limited
• Joining us in this exciting and influential role that is pivotal to the bank's cost control and management, you'll be a key member of the India ManCo and the global process owner for the bank-wide cost control
• It's a chance to have real influence and see your decisions producing tangible results in this high profile, critical role
• We're offering this role at managing director level
What you'll do
As Country Head of Finance, you'll be delivering the strategy for your business area, taking accountability for the total direct profit and loss, balance sheet and capital, legal entity and tax compliance, including all fiduciary responsibilities of a legal entity. This key leadership role will see you drive transformational programmes and make a significant contribution to our business efficiency and success.
We'll look to you to establish and own a governance structure for identifying and managing risk, and for defining and approving an appropriate risk appetite. Additionally, throughout the course of your work, you'll drive the continuous improvement of financial management disciplines.
Your other responsibilities will include:
• Leading and developing a team of accounting professionals to deliver insightful, accurate, and timely group-wide cost reporting and cost process transformation
• Overseeing entity level controllership functions for your hub, including compliance with relevant bank policies, and testing the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls on a regular basis
• Establishing and documenting operating procedures, which include relevant controls to meet bank-wide and local policy requirements
• Connecting financial metrics to performance and productivity metrics, demonstrating continued value add from your business area
• Providing company signatory and directorship in accordance with delegated authorities
• Making sure that management processes are in place to monitor performance and development, ensuring effective communication with leadership, management and the wider team
The skills you'll need
We're looking for a qualified accountant, with significant practical experience of operating in a commercial finance role. You'll be a finance professional, with hands on experience across treasury, audits, tax, internal control, transfer pricing or cost effectiveness.
In addition, you'll have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships at all levels, including senior executives, all within a changing and fast-moving environment.
You'll also demonstrate:
• Knowledge and experience of the relevant legal entity and regulatory requirements, preferably at CFO level, together with experience of operating at Board level
• The ability to articulate the overall strategy and a proven track record of strategic and tactical implementation
• Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory matters and regulatory issues affecting the banking sector
• Significant experience in the financial industry and experience of managing large teams, ideally in a financial services firm
• Experience in a banking environment, business process outsourcing company or non-financial services captives
• Critical thinking skills, enabling you to cut through complexity, and make sound decisions and recommendations that are carefully balanced against risk
