1. Program Planning
u Establish and organize the school/home counseling program by assessing needs and setting goals.
u Formulate a plan of action and program evaluations.
u Initiate and coordinate school-wide guidance and counseling activities.
u Seek input from teachers and staff in making decisions about the school counseling program.
u Assists teachers with the educational placement of students by using appropriate educational assessment strategies.
u Execute Individual Care plan
2. Mentoring and Counseling:
u Provide counselling, instruction, and mentoring for those struggling with social , emotional , and behavioural problem
u Increase achievement by assessing barriers to learning and determining the best instructional strategies to improve learning
u Promote wellness and social skills, problem solving, anger management, self-regulation, self-determination, and optimism
u Provide individual and group counseling services to meet the developmental, preventive, and remedial needs of all El Shaddai Charitable Trust students.
u Make social investigation/case histories of children through personal interviews and from the family, social agencies, and other sources - Home study report
u Focus on enabling the child to adjust to the home, school and the new environment and identification of behavioral and psychological disorder.
u Establish a counselling laboratory, Psychological testing, clinical/behavioural counselling.
u Develop Individual care plan/career counselling for every child in homes and shelters with regard to the child's present and future need and requirement mental health organisation in case if the child needs medication/hospitalization/necessary services.
u Demonstrate knowledge of counseling theories and use appropriate assessment and diagnostic procedures for determining and structuring individual and group counseling services.
3. Consulting
u Assists parents, In Charges and teachers in understanding and responding to developmental levels of students
u Present instructional/informational programs to group of students, parents, and teachers (e.g., parent education programs, group guidance, teacher in-service).
• Increase children's confidence and gain their trust to share their problems, help them cope with painful emotions, and deal with their difficulties in institutional life.
u Encourage and motivate the children through behavior modification exercises.
4 Coordinating and communicating.
u Coordinate all counseling services for students and assists with the same.
u Advocate all students and assist teachers with the integration of Guidance Curriculum.
u Share appropriate information about students with school personnel, parents, and agencies
u Make appropriate referrals of students to school and community programs
u Identify and communicate with special children (disabled, dyslexics, ADHD, etc.)
8.5 :Student Admission and Appraisal
u Carry out the admission process with a sponsorship representative.
u Administer the student's life cycle from admission, to the exit of the child.
u Interpret test results and other student data accurately.
u Conduct non-standardized educational assessment according to professional practices (e.g., classroom observation)
u Use appropriate standardized tests and inventories according to published practices and professional standards.
8.6 :Professional Practices and Development
u Adhere to ethical standards of the counseling profession
u Follow the laws, policies, and procedures which govern ESCT programs
u Participate in professional development activities to improve knowledge and skills
8.7: Reporting and documentation.
u Maintain an organized, functional, and up-to-date office/counseling center
u Maintain an updated list of the children along with the legal documents.
u Prepare psychological/clinical report on traumatized children and counseling them.
u Develop and maintain the child profile with confidentiality.
u Supervise child's quarterly and annual reports with the Sponsorship representative.
8.8 : Miscellaneous:
u Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Key Working Relationships: Children (Group/individual), Homes & Shelter In Charges, School Head Teacher & School Administrator.
Essential Skills: 3 years' experience, MA in Clinical Psychology/ Psychology or equivalent Experience
Essential Attributes: patient, active listener, compassionate, open-minded, research oriented, discrete, encouraging, authentic, honest, sensitive, good communication skills and a positive attitude
