JOB DESCRIPTION

Communication and Collaboration: The cost engineer needs to effectively communicate cost implications to various departments and the design/procurement/finance department for required information, communicate with customers after quote approval, understand the customer view of the quote with the support of the Marketing Department and make revision required if any.

Cost impact comparison study for product manufacturing inside factory vs outsourcing.

Communication between designs, PPC for sample making to be included in the production schedule, and despatch samples to customers.

Support to marketing for following the sample approval

Support to the Production department with the help of Design and product engineering#

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key packaging material and equipment suppliers.

Cost Optimization and Value Engineering:

Identify cost-saving opportunities throughout the packaging development process (material selection, design optimization, alternative suppliers).

Collaborate with packaging engineers and designers to suggest cost-effective alternatives that maintain functionality.

Perform value engineering studies to assess the cost-to-performance ratio of various packaging options

Cost Estimation and Analysis:

Estimate material costs for various packaging options (corrugated cardboard, plastics, films, metals, etc.).

Analyze manufacturing costs associated with different converting, printing, and filling processes.

Evaluate tooling and equipment costs for new packaging designs.

Consider transportation and logistics costs in the overall packaging budget.

Project Management and Reporting:

Manage the cost budget for packaging projects.

Track and monitor project costs throughout the development and production phases.

Prepare cost reports and presentations for stakeholders, including packaging engineers, product managers, and executives.

Technical Skills: Mention specific software programs used for cost estimation and analysis in the packaging industry (e.g., costing software, CAD programs for packaging design review).

Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and propose creative solutions to optimize costs within design constraints.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills are required to interpret data, compare options, and make informed cost-related decisions.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost engineering, preferably within the packaging industry.
• Experience with cost estimation methodologies and costing software.
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, processes, and manufacturing costs.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?40,000.00 per month
