Our team is looking for an adaptable, hands-on Cost and Controls Accountant to join our accounting team in the Bangalore area. As a CC Accountant, you will be responsible for the operational and technical aspects of the Company?s cost and controls accounting, transition and reconciliations. You believe in taking ownership and getting things done right. You are able to manage chaos, create a sense of order, and are willing to dive into detailed accounting issues while juggling ever-changing priorities and demanding deadlines.
**This will be an in-office position supporting the UK. The approximate hours will be 9:00am-5:30pm Bengaluru, India time.
What you will do:
Month-end close: Perform cost & revenue matching and ensure accounting principles are being followed
Ensure that all discounts, rebates are considered
Triangulation of timesheet, cost and revenue to validate cost & revenue
Month-end close activities including, but not limited to, posting the companies Invoice recon, preparation of recurring and adjusting journal entries, cost entries across multiple service lines, preparation and analysis of Trial balance, P & L and balance sheet
GL review: Ensure all monthly costs are properly accounted for and charged to our clients for our consulting projects.
Adjustments: Prepare and journal entry adjustments
Customer service: Provide high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders regarding GL, month close, transition, trial balance, balance sheet and analytics. Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and internal personnel.
Liaise with internal Leaders: Coordinate and communicate with internal leaders and cross-functional teams to review cost & revenue bookings
Process improvement: Assist the Accounting team with process improvements to streamline revenue tasks and shorten revenue close cycle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills:
3+ years Cost and Controls Accounting experience in management consulting or billable service industry
Professional English skills or higher
Significant experience and/or knowledge of General Ledger recognition principles, including, but not limited to, deferred revenue recognition, accruals, allocation across business units, identification of performance obligations and when they are completed, etc.
Technical skills and abilities must include an above average knowledge of accounting and finance principles while maintaining great attention to detail and accuracy.
Dedication to the timely completion of all tasks, effective listening skills and the ability to ask educated questions at appropriate times. Inclinations to be a self-motivator, and apply flexibility/creativity, and conceptualization skills effectively with management.
Demonstrate punctuality, dedication to meeting deadlines, excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to manage expectations of multiple stakeholders
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and its complex formulas, while at the same to possess the ability to grasp new systems/software, database programs, and client management systems quickly
The ability to work independently and also as part of a team. Promote a positive and professional attitude toward other staff members.
Possess a professional working attitude and be flexible in taking on new challenges.
