The Team: BCQ Controls Assurance is part of the Content Operations Group, which is a shared service across the S&P Global Platts Content Creation Group. BCQ consists of 3 separate teams which work in close collaboration with each other - Controls Assurance, Controls and Quality & Model Governance. All 3 teams have Global coverage, and they are supportive of partnership to encourage ideas along with supporting individual ambitions. The Impact: The position of BCQ Controls Assurance Specialist sits within part of the Content group\'s first line of defense and Governance structure with its focus being on the operational control functions. The Content creation group generate accurate and timely information, which is crucial, as our customers rely on this information to help them make timely decisions each day. The BCQ Controls Assurance team\'s focus is on monitoring and improving adherence to Editorial Standards, IOSCO principles, and key controls in the price assessment process. As a part of a newly formed team, this role has a core impact on our business as you will be responsible for conducting analysis related to identifying, assessing, mitigating, and managing risks in the business process. The BCQ Controls Assurance team works to continuously enhance the business controls environment within the Price reporting teams. BCQ Controls Assurance team takes an influencing and proactive \'within Content\' approach to ensuring that pricing processes and controls are fit for purpose, well designed, understood and adhered to. This role is a support structure within the BCQ Controls Assurance team which has centralized the more operational/day to day aspects of the function (previously carried out by all BCQ members for their sectors), with process optimization, standardization and economy of scale being the main goals. An eye for detail, problem solving, decision-making, building repeatable processes and excellent communication is vital for this role. What\'s in it for you: Exposure to Commodities, the evolving Regulatory landscape and interaction with leading commodity pricing experts on a global basis. Responsibilities: Work on data gathering, data enrichment and data maintenance in a format as required, whilst maintaining the integrity and quality of the data. Analysis of data to improve adherence to the editorial standards & IOSCO principles. Execute assigned tasks as per instructions / guidelines and meeting required SLAs. Ensure adherence to and compliance with performance tracking mechanisms, policies and procedures. Assist in the design of operational control processes for commodity insights business line functions. Project manage the design and build phase for the centralization of operational processes working with the BCQ Benchmark Operations Manager. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement within Controls Assurance activities and work to implement them with the BCQ Benchmark Operations Manager. Manage the scheduling of recurring operational tasks with Content managers, monitor and report on completion. These include updates to quality and frequency of Methodology Change projects, How to Guides, Source Lists, Methodology & Specification Guides, amongst others. Competent to deal with queries raised by the business and following them. Support the production of month end metrics files and highlight control breakdowns to the BCQ Controls Assurance Manager for escalation as applicable through monthly roll ups to the governance boards. Liaise with BCQ Controls Assurance Manager for the escalation of operational errors and issues. Work with the price reporting teams on a global basis to resolve daily operational outstanding items. Be the \'go to\'/lead resource for the team in Ahmedabad working to resolve raised queries and close out the escalation log findings. Support team colleagues to streamline processes globally and provide feedback for offshore development and reduction in erroneous issues being raised. Aid BCQ Management in documenting deep dive and shadow session analysis to gain a greater understanding of the business to greater support the Controls Assurance activities. Assist in collating data or documentation to support analysis and Assurance Audit reviews. Build effective relationships with the business and teams you support / work with within Content, COG and Ahmedabad. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree required. 1-3 years of financial services industry experience within an operation or controls function. Very strong analytical, interpretative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to present findings concisely. Experience in automation and/or process optimization Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to interact effectively across all levels. The ability to work independently, but with a team-oriented approach, prepared to step in to assist colleagues and peers and keeping them updated on problems as they arise and how they are resolved. Must have the ability to prioritize, manage time effectively to meet specified deadlines, troubleshoot, strong attention to detail and organized. Research and data management capabilities. Must be approachable, collaborative, and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment and be comfortable with quickly shifting priorities at short notice. Conformity with all Compliance, Confidentiality, and Information Security Policies, Procedures and Guidelines. Preferred Qualifications: Operational Risk/First Line of Defense experience highly Preferred. Knowledge/ interest of energy markets or energy data desirable but not essential. Interest in technology as a means to visualize, interrogate and report data. Project management experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required, especially Excel and VBA.
