:CONTROLLERSControllers ensure that the firm meets all the financial control and reporting obligations of a global, regulated, and public financial institution. Our professionals measure the profitability of, and risks associated with, every aspect of the firm\'s business. The business is ideal for collaborative individuals who have strong ethics and attention to detail.BUSINESS UNITThe Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm\'s assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs\' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analyses of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm\'s businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products, and sophisticated technology systems in depth. Direct Hedge Funds, Hedge Funds Strategies, Private Equity Group teams within Controllers support the alternative investments within Goldman Sachs Asset Management division with oversight over complex private funds.RESPONSIBILITIESBroad responsibilities include the following:
\xef\x82\xb7 Safeguard the assets and reputation of the firm by controlling and supporting the asset management
division, as well as ensuring that they are in compliance with the firm\'s policies and with the
rules/regulations that govern global financial markets
\xef\x82\xb7 Review quarterly / monthly valuations and NAVs for private equity and hedge funds, review yearend
financial statements and perform related activities
\xef\x82\xb7 Support the fund launch and liquidation processes
\xef\x82\xb7 Handle corporate, regulatory and management reporting for funds
\xef\x82\xb7 Work closely with other divisions, including: Business Teams, Product Services, Operations, IT and
Trading Divisions
\xef\x82\xb7 Work closely with fund administrators and auditorsBASIC QUALIFICATIONSExperience: 4 - 7 years
\xef\x82\xb7 Qualified CA/Non CA with experience in the alternative investments /private funds market and process
management desired
\xef\x82\xb7 Basic knowledge of financial statements preparation & review, USGAAP, IFRS knowledge and
experience in coordinating with Big 4 accounting firms during audit cycle is desirable..
\xef\x82\xb7 Basic industry knowledge and strong accounting knowledge. Accounting knowledge of financial products
like Interest rate swaps, credit default swaps, currency options etc. is desired
\xef\x82\xb7 Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
\xef\x82\xb7 MS Office knowledge (Word, Excel) requiredPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\xef\x82\xb7 Able to grasp new concepts quickly and work in a team environment
