Job Title: Continental Commis Chef HELPER
As a Continental Commis Chef Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our kitchen team in the preparation and delivery of high-quality Continental cuisine. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment while assisting our chefs in various tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation Assistance: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for Continental dishes, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, as well as portioning meats and seafood.
• Kitchen Support: Provide support to the Commis Chef team by maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing work surfaces, and restocking supplies.
• Cooking Support: Aid the chefs in basic cooking tasks such as sauteing, grilling, and frying under their guidance and supervision.
• Quality Assurance: Help ensure the quality and consistency of dishes by following recipes, portion sizes, and cooking instructions accurately.
• Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and utensils, to ensure they are kept in good working condition.
• Assistance During Service: Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by completing tasks efficiently and effectively, such as plating dishes, garnishing, and delivering food to the serving area.
• Hygiene and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe working environment, including proper handling of food, equipment, and personal hygiene.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Previous experience in a kitchen environment, such as a culinary school internship, restaurant kitchen, or catering service, is advantageous but not required.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety procedures.
• Willingness to learn and follow instructions from senior chefs.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
