Higher Education - Production & Digital Studio
The Production & Digital Studio team for Higher Education is accountable for the successful end-to-end production of our Higher Education and other courseware across all formats and product models including print, eBooks, rich media, simulations/games, current generation digital supplemental products, and next generation integrated digital products, as well as oversight of Pearson rights & permissions, courseware quality assurance, and global content solutions. The 430+ employee organization currently produces over 2000 PC/mobile software and print titles annually across multiple Pearson geographic locations worldwide augmented by thousands of vendors and freelancers around the world.
The Production & Digital Studio team for Higher Education provides portfolio management processes and strategic analysis to support the company in achieving our goals and driving our long-term, sustainable growth with improved learner outcomes. It does this by:
Partnering with portfolio area, product management, sales and marketing, and technology leadership teams to resolve strategic issues and opportunities and to drive product strategies.
Providing transparency into and analysis of Pearson\'s Higher Education portfolio, including product-level investments.
Creating a consistent and data-driven approach to production processes and investment governance across Pearson
Providing product and geographic-related subject expertise, market insights and programme management.
Purpose of the position
The Content Producer (CP) leads and manages assigned programs that are comprised of multiple components (projects), through strategic planning and controlling the scope, schedules, and quality of all program component for HE (Higher Education) Australia. The CP manages dependencies and is accountable for all program components - digital and print - from end to end.
The Content Producer communicates the program plan to a cross-functional teams and demonstrates leadership and collaboration in implementing and executing the plan.
Key responsibilities
Planning: collaborates with the Commercial Product Management and Content Strategy to advise on and execute the program plan
Schedule: establishes the end to end schedule for all program components in collaboration with the program team; monitors and controls schedule dependencies for program components, ensuring programs publish to agreed schedule.
Budget: responsible for estimating and managing the costs for the P&DS assigned tasks, including internal time sheeting. Provide costs to the Project Manager P&DS, to manage the full budget for delivery to agreed P&L
Content partners: manages the upstream delivery of content via the authors/contributors via the Content Manager according to program needs, providing guidance on and ensuring adherence to key areas including but not limited to Rights & Permissions, Pearson\'s Editorial Policy, Diversity and Inclusion.
Manages vendors and freelancers to achieve content, schedule, and budget requirements.
Content quality: ensures that content is of the highest quality and is fit for purpose, following all of Pearson\'s content principles.
Communication: communicating with all relevant stakeholders throughout product creation process; plans, participate in periodic meetings of the program team to evaluate status, problem-solve, and mitigate risks.
Liaises with Project Manager P&DS to raise issues and risks to facilitate transparent and timely reporting by the Director, P&DS

Qualifications
Master\'s degree or equivalent required.
Minimum of 4-6 years job experience required, preferably in higher education academic publishing or content creation (editorial, digital strategy, end to end project management).
Digital content/product management experience
Proficiency with PC, including Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, or other project management tools.
