The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. For more information, please visit the website .Project Brief:PHFI IIPH Bengaluru is implementing the project with an aim to establish a state-of-the-art tribal health research center in southern India to conduct high-quality, health equity-oriented, culturally appropriate public health research to address contextually specific public health problems and build capacity of physician-scientists in improving the health of tribal people, as well as contribute to decreasing avoidable mortality and morbidity among tribal populations.The Centre's overall strategy involves setting up a multi-institutional center in Chamarajanagar district with the PI and a field team to allow field-level mentorship, oversight and coordination across different stakeholders. For smooth coordination of the proposed work, the activities are divided into specific Work-Packages (WP 1-8), each with a well-defined plan. These include Realist Implementation research Action Lab (RIAL), Inter-disciplinary tribal population cohort, Population-based haemoglobinopathy register, Socio-behavioural aspects of substance use among tribal populations, Capacity-building mentorship, Public policy engagement, Research Management, and Monitoring & evaluation. The study is also aiming to develop comprehensive hemoglobinopathy registry for the three most common hemoglobinopathies (SCD, thalassemia and G6PD deficiency) to provide appropriate and accessible services to the hemoglobinopathy care to the community.Deliverables:Data Wrangling and Report Generation:
