They strategically plan to meet market demands, optimize sourcing, ensure efficient production, and oversee the seamless movement of goods from production to delivery. The team employs advanced analytics throughout these processes, fostering adaptability and operational excellence. This collaborative approach ensures a well-coordinated supply chain that aligns with both organizational goals and dynamic market conditions.Purpose of the roleSupply chain analytics group is responsible for delivering the solutions and developing the capabilities which enables better decision-making in supply chain. This team works closely with all supply chain functions (i.e., plan, source, make, deliver and customer service teams), business units and other cross functional partners for developing solutions to drive business value. This team also drives step-change innovation and improvements in business practices by delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and supply chain expertise.The role involves accountability of building, maintaining, and executing optimization and simulation models to help identify, analyze, and implement opportunities in the areas of network design and optimization by incorporating supply chain costs, manufacturing complexity and inventory optimization. The Consultant supports the logistics teams (replenishment, transportation, and warehousing) in identifying opportunities for distribution network and provides least cost sourcing and distribution options. Works on strategic projects and new capability development and enhancement initiatives.Key AccountailitiesStrategic Responsibilities - Providing thought leadership, critical thinking, problem solving and delivering solutions (50% of Time)Solve complex problems in the areas of network optimization & transportationContinuously think of innovative ways to solve business problems.Evaluate different analytical solutions options and recommend the best approach for the problem at hand.Synthesize large data sets/model results into usable insights and business recommendations.Collaborate with other Supply chain functions across geographies to identify opportunities in business processes and formulate a problem statement.Develop a detailed solution design/architecture or re-engineer an existing solution designEnhance the technical and capability landscape for the supply chain analytics group.Evaluate different emerging tools and technologies available in the industry and prepare a business case for the adoption of same.Work collaborative across cross-functional teams such as (Deployment, Material management) to develop new/innovate solutions.Explore & Develop partnership with the external analytics and technology partners to drive innovationOperational Responsibilities - Learn, Train, and Improve (20% of Time)Training & On-boardingImpart training to the trainers around analytical tools, techniques, processes, domain knowledge, and GMI Business AcumenCreate process for defining the US and India skill targets, training curriculum and execution.Enrich the onboarding program across supply chain analytics.Establish the processes and framework from Hire to Ready for ContributionContinuous ImprovementDevelop and maintain capability maturity frameworks to map out current state and roadmap for future stateIdentify the opportunities of eliminating waste in the analytics processes through innovation and automationIntroduce best practices and standardize ways of executing and delivering analytics projects (design documents, assumption documents, presentation, visualization, storytelling)Stakeholder & Project Management Responsibilities (30% of Time)Lead the business meetings to understand the business requirements and chartering the project.Prepare the project proposals, identifying the opportunities, provide solution options, trade-offs, risks and success criteriaPrepare the project plan, effort estimation, gain alignment on the resources and execute.Deliver the project as per the timelines, with the highest quality and in budgeted resources.Manage the proactive communication throughout the project to the project teams, stakeholders/sponsors/leadership.Minimmum QualificationsFull Time graduation from an accredited university (Mandatory)3-4 years of related experienceExperience in optimization and simulation tools such as Supply chain Guru, Advance Excel, R/Python or similar.Domain ExperienceBasic understanding of end-to-end supply chainDeep understanding in at one or more areas.Distribution planning and Network DesignTransportation and warehousing operationsStrong experience in either of operations, planning and analytics.Can work independently and take decisions without seeking help from Supervisor.Strong analytic ability to translate data into actionable information.Ability to think out of the box & strong analytical skills.Deliver outstanding results.Completes tasks, activities, and projects in a timely and effective manner.Communicates progress about projects with others to ensure overall alignment.Provides ideas and input to help team achieve greater result.May lead a defined portion of a project.Assumes personal initiative and accountability for results, performance, and behaviors.CommunicationAbility to negotiate solutions between parties and effectively communicate with various levels and functions throughout the organization.Story Telling - Translate complex model results into business recommendationsClearly articulate views in written and verbal discussions.Excellent English skills.Problem Solving / Analytical skills.Ability to collect and analyze data quickly and efficiently.Can identify issues and provide ideas/solutions for resolution.Preferred QualificationsMasters degree5 years of related experienceMajor Area of Study in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or Supply ChainProfessional Certifications: CSCMP, APICS
