The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. For more information, please visit the website .Project Brief:PHFI Health Promotion in collaboration with UNICEF aims to reinvigorate efforts to improve the nutrition of school-age children through a focus on 'school nutrition environments\' and how these can be optimized to prevent all forms of malnutrition, including overweight, and obesity, and instill a healthy dietary practice in daily life. To enable this, the Nutrition Environment Assessment Toolkit for Schools (NEAT-S) will be adopted for schools to better understand school nutrition environments. The aim is to adopt global tools, and adapt for use in India. Collecting and analyzing data on nutrition environment in and around schools will help in identifying priority actions and opportunities for improving school nutrition environments in the country. The objectives are: * Synthesizing and strengthening efforts centered on the five themes of Lets Fix Our Food with the overarching goal of leveraging experiential data from adolescents and school systems to enhance initiatives in designing policies for fostering a nutritious school food environment.

  • To contextualize and standardize tool to assess school and in-around school food and nutrition environment. 3. Technical support is provided to convene and coordinate with NITI Aayog and other stakeholders to develop a comprehensive National Nutrition Strategy that encompasses all age groups, including children, adolescents, and the elderly.
  • To empower adolescents, schools, and educators to promote a nutritious food environment by equipping adolescents and amplifying the voices and experiences of young individuals, fostering healthier food environments for Indias burgeoning population of children and adolescents.
Deliverables:
  • Finalization of documents for the dissemination meeting and coordination with the stakeholders including advisory group members.
  • Providing support in coordination with adolescent network members.
  • Develop the documents for IEC approval to contextualise NEAT tool and provide support in coordination with schools and data collection.
  • Development and finalisation of the manuscripts and report in coordination with the team.
  • Provide support in development of Nutrition Report.
  • Provide support in coordination with the working group to develop the National Nutrition Report.
  • Coordinate with team to develop content for the social media platforms.
  • Conduct review of literature to develop manuscripts.
  • Development of project report.
  • Travel as required.
  • Any other task required under the Health Promotion Division / project.
Qualification:Essential:
  • Post-Graduation in Public Health, Social Sciences, or allied fields
Desirable
  • PhD in Public Health or allied fields
Experience:Essential:
  • Around 3-5 years of experience in conducting Public Health Research and Programme.
  • Basics of Public Health/Social Sciences Research and handling Reference software.
  • Writing and documentation skills
Desirable:
  • Understanding of Epidemiology and Statistics or Data Management.
