Job Summary
Our hospital is seeking an experienced Pathologist who can become part of a team that is focused on providing quality diagnostic services. The Pathologist will be responsible for analysing laboratory data and supervising the quality control protocols laid down by the organisation. The ideal candidate for this position will have a post graduate degree in Pathology with an experience Lab Management and Quality Control.Responsibilities and Duties
- To possess knowledge and implement internal and external laboratory quality assurance programme
- To ensure accuracy and timeliness of laboratory operation
- To implement standard laboratory practices & policies
- To implement quality improvement initiative
- To report cases of hematology, clinical biochemistry, cytology and fluid analysis
- To train and guide pathology technicians
- To ensure report turn around times are met in accordance to policies laid down
- To co-ordinate with central lab purchase and supervise inventory management
- To escalate problems to operations in charge, if any to run the operations smoothly
- To provide support to the medical staff in performing laboratory testing
- examine and talk to a range of patients, using diagnostic skills to determine what tests need to be carried out
- support and advise clinical staff to help them choose the correct tests
- provide advice and interpretation of test results and the appropriateness of further investigations
MD Pathology with minimum 2 years work experience
