Job Summary:

The Consultant will support the Sanction Screening Operation team within the Payment Operation department. The Consultant carries out operational activities, drive and support various business strategic projects and create, analyze, and execute various reporting activities involving data mining from multiple sources and report design. The role is balanced between operational execution and development, and implementation of strategic direction of business function activities. The Consultant plays a key role ensuring service quality and is seen as a key advisor on significant business decisions. He / She will have to work with the Team leader and Section/Operational manager in identifying, mitigating, and foreseeing potential risks to the business operations.

Major Duties:
  • Responsible for maintaining the team\'s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as per the agreed Service Description (SD).
  • Ensure compliance with all controls and procedures outlined in the procedure\'s manual and general company policies.
  • Ensure all scheduled work is completed by agreed deadlines, checklists are signed and archived.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce risk and develop efficiency of function.
  • Ensure full and proper reporting and escalation of any operational issues.
  • Escalate and communicate any service delivery issues, as identified.
  • Consult with On-shore partners to address various issues.
  • Analyze, Review, Investigate and Resolve exceptions of incoming and outgoing swift messages/wires in Sanctions screening. Ensure It is in line with the compliance guidelines.
  • Create rules and exceptions to enable swift messages/wires to stop or pass sanction check validation.
  • Conduct analyses on high hitters and provide good guy recommendations for actions that will have the maximum impact in reducing false positive alerts or increasing high STP rate.
  • Collaborate closely with system support team, On-shore teams, screening operational and management teams to identify the most impactful metrics, calculate those metrics and related thresholds, and design visualizations/dashboard for sharing with larger audiences.
  • Lead Change management initiatives across sanction screening operation teams
  • Stay up to date on the development on various sanction lists (Bad guys) and how changes impact the screening hit ratio by performing impact analysis.
  • Provide expertise and insight on how to best use various sanction screening data in dashboards and other analysis.
  • Identify data patterns and trends and provide insights to enhance staffing decision making capabilities.
  • Continuously improve processes and strategies by exploring and evaluating new data sources, tools, and capabilities
  • Drive a standardized, consistent method for reporting for all the teams within sanctions screening.
  • Perform system user acceptance testing on back of system enhancement or upgrade, track test results and report any defects to system support team and follow-up for resolution.
Knowledge/Skills
  • Ability to think strategically, implement, and deliver business objectives.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of financial / capital markets, SWIFT Network, and MT/MX messages. Need to understand OFAC, Embargo and sanction screening.
  • Evidence of strong operations knowledge including secondary review and controls, risks, and mitigation.
  • Proven ability to navigate through ambiguity and maintain momentum driving for results and clarity in uncertain situations.
  • Ability to lead projects/initiatives with high risk and complexity.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
  • Excellent desktop, IT, and systems skills, advanced microsoft office (especially MS Excel, Power Point and Power BI) is essential.
  • Knowledge of related systems: Fircosoft - Sanction screening application (preferred)
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills, as this role requires interaction at all levels of the organization and externally.
  • Skills in SQL and/or Tableau , Alteryx, Xceptor are a plus.
  • Individual with ACAMS certification would be an added advantage.
Experience and Qualification
  • Minimum 6 + years of work experience including cash, sanction screening or related domains, prior quality control review, analytics and reporting experience would be an added advantage.
  • Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or finance
  • Working Knowledge of advance excel macros, Power BI Desktops creating tables, metrics, dashboard, graphs and KPIs.
  • The role holder will be required to operate flexible working hours to cover early starts and/ or late finishes as demanded by the business and ready to work in night shifts.
  • 24 months as a Technical Coordinator/Associate Consultant to move as a Team Leader/ Consultant.
  • Movement within TL and Consultant is 12 months
