Work LocationNew DelhiExpected duration12 monthsDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe Consultant will establish and manage the Community of Practice (CoP) and help establish it as a leading knowledge platform on Climate Technology in the region. The COP will foster innovation, collaboration and the exchange of knowledge in climate technologies. The Consultant will ensure that the CoP plays a strategic role in hastening the region's shift towards a sustainable future, driven by innovative climate technologies. The specific responsibilities of the Consultant include: Design the functions and operational details of the online Community of Practice in consultation with APCTT and relevant stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region. Expand the reach of the CoP: Actively secure membership from ESCAP member and associate member states, ensuring a diverse and representative community across government, academia, industry, research, and civil society. Develop strategic partnerships: Identify and cultivate relationships with international organizations, research institutions, experts, and private sector within the climate technology domain. Leverage these partnerships to broaden the community's reach and impact. Coordinate with key stakeholders in member States to identify their knowledge needs in climate technologies. Based on this analysis, support members to formulate at least 15 queries per year on climate technologies, moderate responses, and compile high quality Consolidated Responses to be posted on the digital platform. Promote the Community of Practice on Climate Technologies among relevant institutions, development practitioners and stakeholders in the region by identifying and actively seeking their participation in queries and other activities of the CoP. Contribute to and integrate learnings from the CoP into APCTT's programme in the region by integration into concept notes, capacity building events and APCTT knowledge products.Qualifications/special skillsA post-graduate or higher university degree in Climate Change, Climate technologies, Innovation, Sustainable Development, International Relations related to technology, or any other related area. A minimum of 10 years working experience with international development organisations in Asia and the Pacific preferably in Environment and Climate Change. Experience of managing communities of practice or knowledge networks. The consultant is expected to have a good understanding of climate technologies and/or technology transfer; experience of using digital platforms and research for managing communities of practice or digital networks; excellent communication and networking skills and a deep understanding of policy advocacy processes. The consultant is expected to provide links to published publications, blogs or knowledge products created or compiled by him/her related to the field of environment or climate change.Languages

Additional InformationThe deliverables of this consultant and linked payment schedule will be as follows: All months 1. Monitor and report to APCTT key CoP performance indicators to assess member satisfaction 1. Month 1 to 3 1.1. Finalisation of the functions and objectives of the CoP. 1.2. Enrolment of members in the CoP. 1.3. Two Consolidated Reports against 2 Queries. 2. Month 4 to 6 2.1. Four Consolidated Reports against 4 Queries. 3. Month 7 to 9 3.1. Four Consolidated Reports against 4 Queries. 3.2. Play a lead role in helping APCTT to establish strategic partnerships with at least 5 globally important institutions in Climate Technology that have actively participated in the CoP. 4. Month 10 to 12 4.1. Five Consolidated Reports against 4 Queries. 4.2. Summary of all 15 Consolidated Replies for the community. Consultancy duration: The Contract shall be for a duration of 12 work-months starting from 15 August 2024.
