Your key responsibilities

Your main objective is to help the engagement teams deliver quality products using general tax knowledge gained from training or education and assistance from more experienced tax professionals. Contribute to the profitable growth by ensuring client engagements are executed in an efficient manner.

Your client responsibilities:
Conduct the engagement in a professional manner and in accordance with the team's and client's expectations.
Provide timely and high-quality services and work products
Demonstrate an understating of basic tax concepts. Proactively expand knowledge in various facets through client assignments and stay updated with recent developments in tax, law and immigration
Research tax theory and positions, and apply them to specific client needs
Exercise independent judgment and discretion when working on client deliverables
Responsible for execution of day to day deliverables through quality work
Responsible for meeting contractual SLA's
Adhere to standard processes and ensure consistency
Escalate issues and queries
Develop a high level understanding of all the work streams and collaborate with different work streams as required by the business
Take ownership of your schedule and proactively seek work when necessary to meet your annual goals
Perform a thorough self-review of all work done
Assist team in managing client projects
Adhere to practice protocols and other internal processes consistently
Flexibility to adapt to different business requirements from time-time

Your people responsibilities:

Contribute and leverage knowledge from individuals, databases and other sources.

Operational Excellence / Day to day responsibilities:
Preparing, reviewing and filing PAN applications
Preparing and reviewing of withholding tax computations and advance tax;
Preparing, reviewing and filing individual tax returns;
Assisting in advisory projects including technical research, drafting memo, presentation etc;
Preparation, reviewing and filing of visa and other allied immigration related applications;
Participate in executing work within a group by assisting and delivering work effectively, and teaming with tax professionals to provide comprehensive tax solutions.
Ensure that the areas of work assigned are executed in accordance with the work programme and the firm's methodologies and guidance, and professional standards.
Use electronic working papers, efficiently including various software applications and sources of knowledge in an appropriate manner to conduct research.
Acquire and demonstrate competence in technical knowledge, and compliance process by keeping up to date on trends, developments and technical authorities and apply them to moderately complex situations.
Analyse and convert data into a tax product (advisory/compliance) and ensure accuracy and timeliness of the product.
Where applicable thoroughly check documents and make available for tax inspections in an appropriate manner.
Demonstrate professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by maintaining the confidential and proprietary nature of client relationships and related work products.
Sensitive towards EY code of conduct, values and quality standards
Contribute to the overall success of the team by developing a thorough understanding of EY methodologies and tools to enhance service delivery; keeping team members informed of work status; actively seeking assignments when unassigned; proactively seeking opportunities to provide tax services;

To qualify for the role you must have

PE II/ IPCC/ PCC qualified. Graduates in B.Com (H).
3+ years Prior experience required
Knowledge on Individual taxation under the Income tax Act, 1961
Knowledge on Analysis of Residential status of an Individual under the Income tax Act, 1961
High level knowledge on the five heads of income and various deductions under the Income tax Act, 1961
Applicable tax slab rates and computing of the same (both old and new regime) under the Income tax Act, 1961
Awareness on the assessment procedures and preparing the response to the tax notices under the Income tax Act, 1961
High level knowledge on various Social security regulations applicable on an individual in India
Awareness on the recent amendments on the income tax laws

Ideally you\'ll also have

Strong communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
Comfortable interacting with senior executives within the firm
Ability to work in a dynamic environment
