Construction function in Bechtel India provides Construction Engineering services, Constructability reviews, construction automation support and various other home office construction services to our projects executed in New Delhi, Vadodara offices and international jobsites. Construction function in Bechtel India is inviting applications from construction professionals with field engineering and construction management experience for the role of Construction Lead - Mechanical and Piping. This is a field assignment at one of our project sites. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

• Provide the necessary construction leadership to coordinate, facilitate, and direct the works for green field, brown field and turnaround projects, including field tie-ins, pre and post turnaround activities
• Represent Construction function in project model reviews, project progress and management review meetings
• Work closely with the stakeholders including technical support groups, maintenance team and contractors, to ensure that scheduled works are planned and performed in a safe, efficient, and

cost-effective manner and in accordance standards and procedures

• Actively review, improve, refine, and update the work process and ensure that schedule, timings and durations are developed for all planned activities
• Work with customers and Specialist Project Engineers and resident engineering and operating personnel to coordinate construction activities
• Support project Contracts team during early contract formation including generation of Scopes of Work for field contracts and active participation in bid evaluations, and clarification meetings.
• Ensure that all necessary documentation is developed and documented appropriately including permits
• Lead and conduct constructability workshops to project teams

. Review contrcator's deliverables, work method statements, job hazard analysis, work packages . Ensue construction contractors are performing the work as per the IFC drawings, as per method statement, meeting all quality and ES&H requirements

• Implement constructability program and provide constructability plan to project members on assigned project in collaboration with project and GBU construction teams
• Coordinate with Engineering to ensure Engineering deliverables are issued to support the construction schedule.
• Identify potential problem areas or trends, and address continues improvement issues
• Maintain effective interface between construction teams at other Bechtel offices and jobsites ensuring construction knowledge, lessons learned, construction initiatives are effectively communicated
• Understand work breakdown structure, work packaging philosophy. Scoping and preparation of Mechanical/Piping Installation work packages, Test Packages, material take-off of temporary test material
• Assist preparation of construction manuals, professional staff support proposal, internal desktop procedure

QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL SETS:

• 
  Typically requires bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical engineering (or international equivalent) with a minimum of 20 years of experience, or 25 years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Proven construction experience on large industrial projects/energy process plants with 3 years of relevant experience in the Cracker Units/ Petro Chemical Projects is mandatory
• Experience in Brown Field Works, Tie-Ins (Mech, Piping, E&I), Pre-assemblies, shutdown works including Pre-Turn Around and post Turn Around
• Exposure to construction rigging and brown field work permits, System Turnover walkdown, As-Built Documentation
• Strong leadership skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple nationalities
• Technical knowledge of all phases of construction engineering relating to the discipline interfacing with all areas
• Proficient in reading drawings, interpret design, specifications and industry standards and codes
• Knowledge of the function and interrelationships of field construction entities and operations
• Performs duties with considerable latitude, exercising independent judgment and utilizing construction knowledge and experience in resolution of moderately complex questions and problems which may

arise

• Must be committed to maintaining a strong health and safety approach which is in line with the Bechtel zero accidents philosophy
• Be quality orientated and work proactively with the contractors to eliminate defects and maintain a zero-rework environment
