Fluor led joint venture with United Infrastructure Group, Fluor-United Asheville (FUA), is seeking candidates for the I-26 Widening Project. FUA was selected by the N.C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to widen and improve the 7.5 mile stretch of Interstate 26 from Exit 40 (N.C. 280) to the I-40 interchange in Asheville, N.C. The project will widen I-26 from two lanes to four lanes in each direction, including two interchange reconstructions, one at N.C. 280 and the other at N.C. 146, and the construction of seven new bridges, two over Glenn Bridge Road, two over Biltmore Farms Road, two over the French Broad River and one segmental bridge on the Blue Ridge Parkway over I-26. This stretch of I-26 currently carries more than 58,000 vehicles per day. Provide support to the jobsite by providing technical guidance to craft and staff in order to fulfill the project requirements. . Under general supervision of a construction engineer or a survey party chief, but with latitude for exercising independent judgment, performs various assignments of a construction engineering support nature, both technical and clerical . Assist in several engineering disciplines, if required . Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality . Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements . A combination of education and directly related experience equal to two (2) years some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements . Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors . Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job . Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines . Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Preferred Qualifications . Good oral and written communication skills . Typically has one (1) year of field construction experience . Ability to speak/read multiple languages .
