Job Description

Here are the job responsibilities of a Computer Operator:

1. System Monitoring: Continuously monitor the operation of computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure they are functioning properly and without interruptions.

2. Running Jobs and Programs: Start, stop, and schedule programs or batch jobs, ensuring that tasks are executed correctly and on time.

3. Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identify and troubleshoot basic hardware or software issues, performing minor repairs or adjustments. Escalate complex issues to IT support teams when necessary.

4. Data Backup and Recovery: Perform routine backups of system data to prevent data loss. In case of system failures, assist with restoring lost data or recovering from backups.

5. Log Management: Maintain and update logs of system activity, including job execution details, system errors, and troubleshooting actions. Prepare reports for management or IT teams.

6. Security Monitoring: Ensure system security by monitoring for unauthorized access, viruses, or other potential security threats. Follow protocols to safeguard sensitive information.

7. Managing Peripheral Devices: Oversee the operation of input/output devices like printers, scanners, and external storage. Ensure devices are functioning and ready for use.

8. User Support: Provide basic technical support to end-users, including resolving login issues, troubleshooting software problems, and helping with system usage.
