If you can bring an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to learn and collaborate to your work, this could be the boost your career deserves.Key Role and Responsibilities:The Compliance Specialist for Digital & Technology will be responsible for ensuring Investec remains up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements by:

  • Creating, updating and maintaining a register of all relevant regulations and legislation from jurisdictions where Investec operates
  • Aggregating the requirements of the regulations and de-duplicating them in the (Unified Compliance) tool to create a single list of controls
  • Ensuring the Investec Risk and Control library is updated accordingly in the GRC System (Protecht)
  • Providing communication and training to key stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Continuously monitor and assess regulatory changes related to D&T compliance in every Investec jurisdiction.
  • Map regulatory requirements against current internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Recommend updates or new controls to ensure regulatory alignment.
Risk Assessment & GRC Tool:
  • Advise the GRC team on any thematic issues regarding non-compliance with regulations
  • Assist, where necessary, in updating risk assessments, to reflect current compliance requirements.
  • Agree appropriate remediation plans if required
Collaboration & Support:
  • Work closely with the D&T GRC team to raise awareness of D&T compliance obligations.
  • Act as a resource to Compliance Heads, CIOs, etc providing guidance on D&T regulations and legislation.
Vendor & Contract Management:
  • Act as a resource to internal procurement teams to assist in the understanding of compliance obligations.
Reporting:
  • Develop a process for regular reporting on D&T compliance.
Policy Development & Training:
  • Assist in developing and updating relevant policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the delivery of IT compliance training to relevant stakeholders.
Core Skills and Knowledge:
  • Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role.
  • To act with integrity at all times and embrace the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
  • Experience of working within environments with strong regulatory regimes
  • Good understanding of best practice standards and governance frameworks
  • Strong leadership skills: energy, enthusiasm, drive, direction, results-orientation.
  • Proactive, challenging, questioning and analytical
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a matrix environment with interfaces to multiple teams / reporting lines
  • Technical and enterprise problem / resolution skills
