As Compliance Manager, you will be based in one of McKinseys offices in India, as a member of our growing community of Risk and Compliance colleagues, reporting to the Global SHaPE Compliance Director. You will work closely with stakeholders in the firms Risk, Compliance, Legal, Communications and Finance functions, and whose mission is to enable McKinseys client impact and innovation, while managing risks to the firm, our clients, and our people. Finally, you will interact and work with client-serving Partners and wider colleagues across the firms public, social & state-owned sector client work. What You\'ll Do
As the Compliance Manager you will develop and implement workstreams related to the Practice's overall efforts in public sector, social sector and state-owned enterprises compliance in EEMA and Asia and you will be responsible for owning core program management and its continuous evolution. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders (within and outside of the immediate team) to drive overall alignment and lead a dedicated team of colleagues, leveraging both technology and process optimization strategies. You will contribute to the development and guidance of individual team members, cultivating a culture of growth and progress in pursuit of their goals. You will be expected to inform decision making through a nuanced understanding of economic, geographic, and political issues that impact on the practices engagements across all offices, and to serve as a valued source of advice on relevant approaches and levels of compliance for specific locations and clients. You will maintain an overview of the compliance program within the practice and have direct oversight on the development, delivery of contextualized reports, presentations, and communications to firm leadership, practice colleagues, and firm functions. Driving the development and execution of compliance activities within the SHaPE Practice for EEMA and Asia, collaborating with various stakeholders to shape the program and its approaches
Identifying and mitigating risks related to the specific domain area; raising trends/issues and driving the needed solutions ensuring a holistic and comprehensive compliance program (e.g., diligence/review frameworks, crafting awareness/education campaigns, developing controls, and monitoring approaches, establishing escalation or issue management processes)
Collaborating with internal stakeholders including Risk, Legal, Internal Audit, Finance, HR, and other relevant functions to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
Providing transparency to cell, functional, or regional leadership on compliance and risk levels through regular reporting, ongoing compliance monitoring, and periodic compliance testing
Addressing and directing ad-hoc compliance queries and requests from firm leadership, practice colleagues, and firm functions
Leading multiple initiatives for the regional and broader global team (e.g., building capabilities of the team or others)
Leading a high-impact team to deliver against priorities and support the growth and development needs of the overall compliance practice (review internal processes, recruitment, coaching, mentorship, etc.)
Qualifications
Academic credentials that include an undergraduate degree and demonstrable intellectual curiosity through professional training or impact
7+ years of professional experience in Legal, Risk, or Compliance, whether in public administration, consulting, healthcare, social sector, or professional services
3+ years of relevant experience in specific ethics and compliance domains/areas within the social, healthcare, and/or public sector (e.g., regulatory programs, monitoring and controls, etc.)
Experience in or aptitude for using risk-related data sets and technology solutions for data management, analysis, and reporting; preferably good knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); knowledge of Salesforce Client Management System and Tableau/ Power BI would be advantageous
Strong personal presence and credibility; ability to work across all levels of seniority, cultivating trust-based, peer-counselor relationships
Positive, diplomatic, with sound judgment, good instincts; particularly helpful if experience is across multiple geographies
Clear and effective communicator with the ability to tailor messaging based on audience
Self-motivated, able to operate autonomously and with entrepreneurial energy, accustomed to working to stringent deadlines and balancing disparate needs
Radiates knowledge to others to support and empower their success (e.g., apprenticing/coaching others)
