Position Title: Compliance Director : The Compliance Director - Claim Handling will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive compliance programs specifically tailored to the company\'s claim handling operations. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of US legal compliance requirements related to claim processing and insurance regulations. They will work closely with internal stakeholders, including claims managers, legal counsel, and senior leadership, to establish and enforce policies and procedures that mitigate compliance risks and promote best practices in claims management. Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing claim handling in the United States.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of claim handling practices to identify areas of noncompliance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and training to claims staff on compliance requirements, ethical standards, and best practices in claims management.
  • Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations impacting claim handling operations and proactively update policies and procedures to maintain compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors conducting examinations or inquiries related to claim handling practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk management, and operations, to address compliance issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging risks related to claim handling compliance and recommend strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the company.
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance activities, findings, and recommendations to senior management and the board of directors as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business, law, finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance roles within the insurance industry, focusing on claim handling compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of US laws and regulations governing claim processing, including but not limited to, state insurance regulations, HIPAA, Fair Claims Practices Act, etc.
  • Strong understanding of ethical standards and best practices in claims management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) or Certified Insurance Compliance Professional (CICP) are a plus.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: 50,548.44 - 65,811.13 per month Benefits:
