What You'll Do:

As a Compliance Counsel - IMEA, you will be collaborating with regional business leadership for compliance in decision-making. You will also be leading the development, implementation, and oversight of best-in-class programs to ensure that the company's operations in India, Middle East and Africa (IMEA) continue to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and Lubrizol's ethics.
We are seeking an experienced, highly-skilled and motivated Compliance Counsel to join our global ethics and compliance team, reporting to Lubrizol's Vice President and Chief Counsel for Ethics and Compliance.


What We're Looking For (Responsibilities / Accountabilities):

• Provide advice and guidance to management and employees on compliance-related matters.
• Enhance compliance awareness through the development and presentation of training and other awareness initiatives.
• Conduct risk assessment for capital projects and other initiatives, and develop monitoring programs to ensure compliance.
• Support the corporate compliance team with the onboarding and training of suppliers, distributors, sales representatives, and government-facing contractors.
• Conduct investigations of compliance concerns, seeking advice from external legal counsel as needed.
• Support Lubrizol's open-reporting culture and protect the confidentiality of concern-raisers.
• Provide support on corporate compliance audits and the implementation of corporate policies.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Internal Audit, Human Resources, and Information Technology.
• Provide legal guidance and support businesses on managing statutory and regulatory compliances including establishing a systemized compliance tracker.



Skills That Make a Difference:

• LLB from a reputed law school in India
• Minimum 8 years of legal experience, with a focus on compliance and regulatory matters.
• In-depth knowledge of anti-bribery laws, international trade regulation, competition laws, data privacy, and other main legal compliance fields.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Ability to deal confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Prior experience as compliance counsel in-house at a multinational company is preferred.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to interface effectively with personnel at all levels of the Lubrizol organization.
• Proven ability to digest large amounts of information and distill it into the essential elements for executive communication and decision-making.
• High level of cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional intelligence, along with personal integrity and demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and inspire trust.
• Travel as needed, but not expected to exceed 10%.
