BACKGROUND
The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.

Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST. GENERAL Location of Job: Mandi, Kangra, Una and Hamirpur Type of Employment: Contractual for 1 year No. of Position : 28 Reporting to : Project Officer/Sr. Programme Manager/M&E Annual Salary : upto 23000/- Roles and Responsibilities a. Project coordination & management • Management of the project at the village level under the guidance of the project coordinator and THF officials.

• Primary, and secondary data collection & implementation of participatory approaches for preparation of action plan.

• Formation & guiding of volunteer firefighters at the village level to achieve intended objectives.

• Regular field visits to the project area for mobilizing volunteer firefighters, and community-based organizations and sharing progress with the project coordinators.

• Ensuring community engagement for the smooth implementation of the program.

• Mass level awareness drive on forest fire prevention and mitigation.

• Timely achievement of the physical target of the program.

• Implementation of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) and Behaviour Change Communication approaches at the village level.

• Timely submission of field-level reports to project coordinators and THF officials.

• Collect and present information/reports for the project as and when needed.

• Helping project coordinators in collection of data, case study/anecdotes from the field level.

• Any other tasks and assignments as given by project coordinators & THF officials.

b. Capacity Building of the community • Helping project coordinators in capacity building of volunteer-based firefighters and community-based institutions at the village level.

• Helping project coordinators in imparting different training programs for volunteer firefighters and community-based organizations.

c. Community Mobilization • Mobilization of community-based institutions like volunteer firefighters, gram panchayats, van panchayats, Mahila mangal dals etc. for Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery at village level.

• Community mobilization for awareness generation and increased involvement of the community at each stage of the project.
