LIFI is working on mission to create an empowered cadre of local Community Teacher Leaders (CTLs) who work with children (either pushed out of the education system or are on the verge of dropping out) in their own communities and ensure excellent opportunities for them to enable their retention on sustainable learning pathways which includes formal schools, open schools and/or vocational training centers.One of the flagship programs is a two-years Fellowship implemented by LIFI for the CTLs: xe2x80x9cLeadership And Development in Urban & Rural India Fellowship, (LeAD UR India Fellowship). This fellowship is also implemented in collaboration with other nonprofits so as to form a collective in India for such children and support them wherever they are in the country!RequirementsThe RoleYou will head and lead the education program for children who are out of the education system or at risk to drop in the community and work towards the program development, expansion, execution and management of the LIFI program, working extensively with all key stakeholders - teachers, schools, students, parents, government and civil society. Ability to see the big picture, understand the need and create and adapt the right pathway for the program and supporting environment around it. Reporting to the Project Head, you will draw on the success of the program to date and provide strategic direction including:Effective day to day running of the program, supervise Community Teacher Leader/s (CTL)Building positive working relations with all key stakeholdersIdentifying and responding to the opportunities and further the aims and the reach of the programCreating sustainable resource mobilization pathways to stabilize the community based program for children out of the education system.Tasks and responsibilitiesConduct and supervision of the survey to identify children who are out of the education system or at risk to drop outEnsure transparency and authenticity of the data collected.Create a report based on the surveys.Collaborate with the team for the analysis of the report.Learning and TrainingBe part of all Learning and Training sessions - Induction, On-going, Mid-year, End of Year.Ensure that the learnings from the training are being applied in action by the CTLs.Lead training sessions online and offline for the CTLsLead the computer training center in the communityObserve the CTLs and inform curriculum team of their strengths and gapsObserve the lessons executed by the CTLs daily.Give them feedback and share the same with the curriculum team.Ensure that the learning outcomes in the children are achievedCo-plan with the team to ensure that all children with the CTLs achieve 90% mastery in foundational literacy and numeracy skills.Support in identifying children with special learning needs and ensure that there is a plan of action for them.Supervising assessments of the childrenSupport team in planning and supervising the baseline, midline and end-line assessments to track the progress of the children.Ensure authenticity of the assessment data collected.Liasoning with Government other local organizations to improve program qualityAdvocate with Government to mainstream children in nearby Govt. Schools.Liaise with other organizations that can enhance the quality of the programs.Suggest vocational training programs and bring partnerships that can ensure such training for the children in the evening camps.Database Maintenance and other Administration work related to the program implementation and all stakeholders (CTLs, students, parents, Govt. bodies, partners etc.)Enroll and mainstream children to nearby Government schoolsTeaching in the Maati-Paathshala classes, whenever needed to showcase and support the CTLsTraveling to the source villages of the children and ensure their mapping to local Government schools both at the source and at the brick kilnsQualification & Preferred SkillsWe require a team member with Graduation degree or who have passed 12th Std. and is having 3 - 5 years experience in - community mobilization, govt/advocacy. Skills:Having an entrepreneurial mindsetExperience in community mobilization and/or proven experience of running educational activities with childrenStrong experience in Community Based ApproachSignificant experience of working with children, adolescents & Community.Alignment with organizational core values: Empowerment, Joy, Determination, Ownership, ReflectionAbility to propose, create and run community activities.Experience in community mobilization, conducting survey & outreach activities in different communities.Leading volunteers on ground.Advocacy with Government on policy/rights related issues.Good communication and social skills to establish relationships with different communities.Ability to work in team and co-run activities.Computer skills (MS Office).Strong organizational and reporting skills.Strongly motivated by humanitarian work.Dynamic, creative, positive, flexible and good team player.Good experience in data collection and data entry.Good experience in communication with communities and awareness campaigns.Languages: Mandatory: Fluency in written and spoken Hindi, EnglishBenefitsSalary-15000Training and Development
