PURPOSE Supports managers and/or functions with advice on internal and/or external communication matters and acts as a point of entry to communication services as a whole. Responsible for implementing the Communications Strategy for GTI. The position includes internal and external communications and brand building activities through various tools such as the web, newsletters, townhalls, conferences, brochures, multimedia, tools, promotional merchandise, national and international press, events etc.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Media Management
Develop and manage relationships with important media in the region and with leading publications nationally, in all bureaus.
Manage ongoing relationships with external vendors and agencies (eg. Printers, graphic designers, advertising agencies, media outlets)
Maintain a current database of media with complete contact details
Identify story opportunities with different media; ensure a continuous stream of a variety of stories, develop key messages appropriate to the event
Write press releases and other press materials, maintain a collection of photographs of the terminal, senior executive profiles and photographs in print and in the website, maintain a full-fledged press kit
Write answers for media questionnaires
Recognise the business goal behind communication plans
Brand Management
Ensure consistency of messaging across all communication tools
Design and manage Press conferences, Media interactions, customer relationship events etc
Regularly release PRs, publish newsletters for staff and external newsletters in alignment with the Commercial team. Contribute and edit content, ensure professional and contemporary design as per Company branding guidelines.
Identify, evaluate and select appropriate sponsorship opportunities and brand representations in industry bodies such as the FFFAI, CII, FICCI, etc.
Act as a point of contact for individual managers for key communication activities
Develop branded merchandise for clients, identify vendors, negotiate competitive rates, ensure high quality and appropriate branding in line with procurement and global branding guidelines respectively
Design, produce and update brochures, multimedia tools and other marketing material in coordination with other departments Commercial, HR, Operations etc.
Content Management
Write content for press, media, website, brochures, newsletters, presentations, film scripts, press events, etc. Ensure consistent messaging and corporate style
Apply subject matter expertise (ie graphic design, journalism, social media) for delivering content
Website Management Ensure the website is regularly updated with correct information and in line with the global guidelines for content and technology. Complete alignment with HQ.
CRITICAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Degree in management and/or Mass communications from a reputed University
At least 10 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience working in PR/Advertising agencies, handling brand management and media and marketing activities for large companies
Experience of working in a multinational company
Good relationships with some leading media agencies
Experience in writing articles, press releases, content for brochures etc
Relationships with a variety of vendors and knowledge of market rates
Experience at handling at least one major crisis.
Media management across India - print and electronic
Knowledge of advertising design and media space utilization; latest technological and design developments in the web space
Excellent writing skills
