Apply by: 7 July 2024 Location: Bengaluru/Remote Job Profile: We are looking for a Communications Associate to contribute strategically to our organization's social media strategy, outreach initiatives, and internal knowledge management processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in digital and data rights and development justice, with the ability to translate complex research into accessible content for diverse audiences. The Communications Associate - Social Media Management will be pivotal in shaping and implementing our social media strategy across platforms, working towards making our vision and mission resonate with various stakeholders. Preference will be given to candidates willing to move to Bengaluru, but possibilities for remote work can be negotiated. Primary Responsibilities:
Public-Facing Content: Guide the creation of social media strategy, newsletters, and other public-facing content to maximize impact.
Strategic Communication: Develop and execute impactful visibility, dissemination, and communication strategies for active projects, networking, and advocacy efforts.
Content Review: Review, edit, and harmonize all public-facing content, including website/s, funder correspondence, concept notes, and reports.
Bot Populi Support: Support the editorial, production, dissemination, and audience aspects of Bot Populi, an online magazine initiated by seven international organizations, including IT for Change.
Design and Development: Contribute to the design and development of research and advocacy materials in-house, using graphic design software.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate communication strategies, tracking and expanding the dissemination footprint of all organizational outputs.
Community Building: Create protocols and systems, including databases, to expand contacts and communities associated with the organization's mandate.
Requirements for Candidates:
Passion for communications, knowledge processes, and advocacy on digital rights and the global politics of development.
Understanding of best practices to optimize content for maximum engagement on social media platforms.
Masters degree in Communications, Media Studies, English, or the Social Sciences.
2-4 years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Exceptional academic and non-academic writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated proficiency in Canva (or other design software), MailChimp, WordPress, and other key communications tools.
