Drawing from public relations, digital communication, policy work and projects goals and objectives - design and deliver routine, long- and short-term publicity and media plans, including setting targets for milestones, to help advance Vital Strategies strategic goals / objectives and enhance brand visibility
Write and edit compelling content, arrange distribution/placement across multiple platforms, including press releases, opinion editorials, press statements, story pitches, case studies, website content, social media posts, newsletters, speeches and other material that communicates the organizations and its projects goals, activities and impact.
Serve as a point of contact across teams to coordinate and ensure the delivery of high-quality communication products and help teams action remain in synergy.
Working in close collaboration and coordinate with Vital India project and divisional leads and South Asia teams and Vital Strategies Inc.s PR and communication team of Policy Advocacy and Communication division, support the development and management of the overall media and brand strategy, propose opportunities to raise the visibility of organization, projects and relevant staff and spokespeople.
Manage and advance requests from Vital India Managing Director and other leads related to PR opportunities.
Proactively establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with the media to identify and execute pitch opportunities. Develop and maintain media lists.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with Vital South Asia and global staff, as well as members of the press and other key stakeholders; stay up-to-date and informed about the organizations activities; proactively identify milestones, support press and communication strategies and track/follow-up on media impact;
Identify spokespeople, research speaking and thought leadership opportunities, draft pitches, and prepare staff for external engagements to increase our reach in front of target audiences.
Write pitches and secure media placements in target media outlets and respond to media inquiries.
Plan and manage events, pitch speakers and panels for relevant conferences; manage award and speaker submissions, and other opportunities.
Monitor news and follow trends in relevant areas to pitch ideas for stories and articles, including interviews and statements from key spokespeople across Vital India and South Asia.
Develop and maintain digital communication tools for the organization; maintain and manage website and social media presence.
Write and update brochures, media kits, key messages, fact sheets and other collateral material.
Track communication activities and prepare and submit PR reports.
Serve as point of contact for external vendors including agencies, consultants and other parties.
Monitor budgets and contracts with particular attention to media deliverables to ensure timely execution and implementation.
Assist with drafting of reports, presentations, correspondence, blogs, meeting agendas, as requested.
Any other task, new project activities, or special projects as assigned and directed by the supervisor.
Education and degree
At least a bachelor's degree in, journalism, PR or any related discipline.
Experience
Minimum 6 years of PR, communication experience;
Preferred:
Experience working in public health communications
Experience working in international settings.
Experience with media intelligence platforms; email marketing services; social media channels.
Agency experience.
