JOB SUMMARY
This position provides ensures proper execution of material strategies and programs for Mechanical commodities across Vertiv EMEA business. The Commodity Specialist is responsible to deploy commodity strategies to support the company's business and financial performance at the EMEA level with a special focus on Thermal Liquid Cooling projects. The Commodity strategy includes coordinating each function to streamline and improve supply chain performance, including material containment; material productivity, inventory turnover, lead time reduction, supplier consolidation, supplier development and performance management to improve the business overall customer on-time delivery and financial performance. Additional responsibilities include: supporting trade and ESG team, system tools and compliance. This position reports to the Director - Mechanical and is critical to managing Vertiv EMEA's overall result. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Participates in the development of the sourcing strategy consistent with the company's business plan and executes its deployment.
• In alignment with the Commodity Director, develops commodity goals and objectives, manages suppliers and other resources to ensure goals and objectives are met.
• Meets with supplier base to ensure the highest level of service. Develops plans to continually upgrade service level.
• Supports company trade, import/export and environmental compliance programs related to supplier selection and management.
• Oversees and ensures the company's interest and fair business practices per Vertiv Policy deployment are adhered to in contract and agreements with the supplier base (in conjunction with our legal department).
• Implements approved recommendations and ensure compliance with all associated policies and standing operational procedures and regulations.
• For assigned commodities, in alignment with the Commodity Director:
+ Supports with data analytics regarding costing / price management eSOurcing
+ For ETO projects, coordinates between R&D, Materials team, and Suppliers to optimize project savings and improve PDSL, WALT and inventory control.
+ Supports the resolution of material shortages.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs other duties and oversees special projects and assignments as may be assigned by Vertiv's Management

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• BS or MS degree
• Fluent in English
• 2-5-year experience in international Procurement.
• Experience in Mechanical commodities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Computer and software applications skills required.
• Proactive and high-energy style.
• Ability to comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements and customer specifications.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of Management, technical and not technical.
