Job Title: Commis I - South Indian

Job Summary:
We are looking for a passionate and diligent South Indian Commis I to join our fast growing, multi-cuisine restaurant in Goa. The Commis I is responsible to prepare consistent, high-quality food products, ensure courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service and maintain restaurant's operational standards. The Commis I will be also responsible for assisting Chef de Cuisine/Sous Chef in cooking and then ensuring that all stations are clean. Ensure proper storage of food items/raw materials in freezers/refrigerators and ensure proper portioning of dishes, and food garnishing.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Proficiency in preparing and cooking South Indian cuisine, including dishes like dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, and various types of rice preparations.
• Ability to follow authentic recipes while also demonstrating creativity and innovation in presenting dishes.
• Ensure all food preparation meets the highest quality and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including refrigerators and storerooms.
• Work closely with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient and effective food production.
• Assist in the training and development of junior kitchen staff.
• Contribute to menu planning and creation of new dishes.
• Stay updated with current food trends and customer preferences related to South Indian cuisine.
• Monitor and ensure consistency in food taste, quality, and presentation.
• Implement portion control and minimize wastage to maintain food costs.
• Adhere to all health and safety standards and regulations.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of all food products.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
• Proven experience as a Commis I or similar role, with specific expertise in South Indian cuisine.
• Knowledge of traditional and modern cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
• Exceptional teamwork skills and an eye for detail
• Able to take responsibility
• Be Customer focused and give priority for better customer service
• Enjoys working in a lively, fast-paced environment, someone who lives his hobby and is passionate about cooking and food
• This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 11 kilograms or more
• Standing or walking for extended periods of time and ensuring a professional appearance in a clean uniform is also required
• Flexibility to work in changing circumstances
Job Timings:
Should be available to work between 07:00 AM to11:30 AM and 03:30 PM and 09:00PM Monday through Sunday with one weekly off.
Salary Range: Rs.18,000 - Rs.25,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?18,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
