Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis 1st (common kitchen) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in various cooking techniques and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a Commis 1st, you will work under the supervision of the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef,Executive Chef to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Assist in preparing and cooking dishes according to recipes and standards set by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Executive Chef. Ensure consistent quality and presentation of dishes.
• Ingredient Handling: Manage and prepare ingredients for daily service, including washing, cutting, and portioning. Maintain inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Follow all hygiene and safety protocols to ensure a sanitary kitchen environment.
• Cooking Techniques: Demonstrate proficiency in various cooking techniques and equipment. Follow instructions for cooking methods, plating, and garnishing.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely preparation of dishes. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards. Report any issues or inconsistencies to the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, Executive chef.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a similar role within a common kitchen.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Education: Culinary school diploma or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Attributes: Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a positive attitude. Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
