• Food Preparation: Assist with the preparation of ingredients, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, trimming meat, and preparing sauces and garnishes.
• Cooking: Cook and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Maintaining Cleanliness: Keep your working area clean and organized, adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations. Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and maintained after use.
• Stock Management: Help monitor stock levels and report when supplies are running low. Ensure that food is stored correctly to minimize waste.
• Learning and Development: Assist senior chefs in developing cooking techniques and understanding the flow of the kitchen. Participate in training sessions and learn new recipes and methods.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards in the kitchen, including handling food and equipment safely.
• Teamwork: Work closely with other kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, to ensure that food is prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Dish Presentation: Ensure that food is plated according to the restaurant's presentation standards, assisting in the final touches as needed.
• Quality Control: Assist with ensuring the quality of dishes meets the restaurant's high standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
• Experience: Previous kitchen experience or a culinary qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ Level 2) is preferred but not essential.
• Skills:
• Strong interest in food preparation and cooking.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn quickly.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under pressure.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
• Work Ethic: A positive, hardworking attitude with the desire to contribute to the team.
• Communication: Good communication skills and the ability to take direction from senior chefs.
• Availability: Flexible to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?25,000.00 per month
