Job Description

Commis 1, or Commis Chef, is a kitchen worker who prepares and serves food under the guidance of a senior chef. Their responsibilities include: Food preparation: Cleaning, cutting, and preparing fruits, vegetables, herbs, and salad items. Seasoning meats and preparing basic salads and sauces. Food presentation: Ensuring food is served at the correct temperature, taste, and visual appeal. Kitchen maintenance: Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen. This includes temperature checks, food labeling and dating, storage, and scheduled kitchen cleaning. Stock management: Monitoring stock movement, requisitioning items, and accepting and storing deliveries. Kitchen safety: Removing hazards and reporting any defects in the kitchen or equipment to a senior chef. Communication: Communicating clearly and effectively with other kitchen staff. Teamwork: Assisting in maintaining overall camaraderie in the kitchen. Training: Educating and guiding junior chefs. Some other skills and qualities that are often required for a Commis 1 include: The ability to work under pressure, Strong organizational skills, The ability to multi-task, A willingness to learn new skills, and A high level of personal and kitchen hygiene.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
