Job Summary: The Commis Chef assists with the preparation and cooking of dishes under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. The role involves following recipes, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and supporting various kitchen stations to ensure efficient operation and high-quality food production.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for dishes, including chopping, slicing, and mixing.
• Follow recipes and cooking instructions from senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations and utensils.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Help with the cooking of dishes and plate presentation as directed.
• Support in stock management, including receiving deliveries and storing ingredients properly.
• Contribute to the maintenance of kitchen equipment and report any issues.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service. Qualifications :
• Basic culinary knowledge or relevant cooking experience.
• Formal culinary training or education is preferred but not always required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
