Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation:
• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes under the supervision of senior chefs.
• Follow recipes, portion control, and presentation specifications as directed.
• Ensure that ingredients and portions are prepared to meet quality standards and avoid food wastage.
• Kitchen Maintenance:
• Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients as required.
• Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces.
• Inventory & Stock Control:
• Assist in monitoring stock levels and inform the senior chef of low or out-of-stock items.
• Properly store and label food items in the kitchen, ensuring stock rotation (FIFO) to minimize wastage.
• Learning & Development:
• Show a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and skills as part of on-the-job training.
• Take constructive feedback from senior chefs and use it to improve performance.
• Keep updated with culinary trends and continuously look for ways to enhance skills and knowledge.
• Team Support:
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operation during service.
• Step in to assist other team members as needed, ensuring timely and efficient service.
• Safety & Compliance:
• Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
• Follow health and safety regulations and attend any relevant training sessions.
• Ensure personal grooming and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Degree in hotel management
• Experience: Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Skills:
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to work under pressure and take instructions from senior kitchen staff.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and work in a fast-paced, hot kitchen environment.

Working Conditions:

This position may require working in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the kitchen's operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?30,000.00 per month
