Job Summary :
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Commis 2 to join our culinary team, specializing in Indian cuisine . The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and execution of authentic Indian dishes, supporting the kitchen team in daily operations, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and hygiene. You will work closely with senior chefs and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation :
• Assist in the preparation of traditional Indian dishes such as curries, tandoori items, biryanis, and breads (naan, roti, etc.).
• Follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure consistent quality and taste.
• Chop vegetables, grind spices, and prepare sauces and marinades under the supervision of senior chefs.
• Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and prepared according to food safety standards.
• Cooking Assistance :
• Assist in cooking and plating Indian dishes, ensuring accurate portion sizes and presentation.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as tandoors, stoves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure dishes are cooked properly and avoid overcooking.
• Follow kitchen best practices to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Maintaining Cleanliness and Hygiene :
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a hygienic kitchen environment.
• Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and workstations.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and adhere to recycling guidelines.
• Supporting Senior Chefs :
• Assist senior chefs with meal preparation during busy service times.
• Help with stock management and inform the Head Chef or Sous Chef when ingredients are running low.
• Participate in daily kitchen briefings and support the smooth operation of the kitchen.
• Menu Development & Innovation :
• Provide input and suggestions for new Indian dishes or variations to the Head Chef.
• Experiment with ingredients and spices to develop new recipes under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Training and Learning :
• Take advantage of learning opportunities by observing and assisting senior chefs.
• Keep up to date with trends in Indian cuisine and continue to develop culinary skills.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience : Minimum 1-2 years of experience in Indian cuisine preparation, ideally in a restaurant or hotel.
• Culinary Knowledge : Strong understanding of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients.
• Teamwork : Ability to work in a team environment and assist senior chefs as needed.
• Time Management : Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Attention to Detail : Precision in food preparation, plating, and maintaining hygiene standards.
• Food Safety : Knowledge of kitchen safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.

Working Conditions:

• Shifts : Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
• Environment : Busy kitchen environment with exposure to heat, cooking odors, and high noise levels.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?12,000.00 - ?16,000.00 per month
