Key Responsibilities:
• Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling, and cutting produce, and measuring ingredients according to recipes.
• Cooking: Execute basic cooking tasks such as sauteing, grilling, frying, and baking under the supervision of senior chefs.
• Station Support: Work on a specific station (e.g., appetizers, salads, grill) as assigned by the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef, ensuring that all dishes are prepared according to recipe standards and in a timely manner.
• Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines at all times.
• Inventory Management: Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping track of inventory levels to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service hours. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate tasks and prioritize workload.
• Adherence to Standards: Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency in food quality and appearance. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding food handling, safety, and sanitation.
