Key Responsibilities:
• Preparation of Ingredients: Assist in the preparation and cutting of ingredients, following recipes and instructions from senior chefs.
• Cooking Assistance: Work alongside a Chef de Parties or other senior chefs to cook and prepare dishes to order, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met.
• Maintaining Kitchen Cleanliness: Ensure that the work area is kept clean, organized, and safe, following health and safety guidelines. This includes washing dishes, cleaning work surfaces, and disposing of waste.
• Stock Management: Assist in managing kitchen supplies, including ensuring that ingredients are properly stored and keeping track of inventory levels.
• Supporting Line Work: Help with tasks during service, such as garnishing dishes, plating, and assisting with fast-paced orders.
• Learning and Development: Continuously improve cooking skills by learning from senior kitchen staff and participating in training sessions.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Basic Culinary Knowledge: Familiarity with cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
• Strong Work Ethic: Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Teamwork: Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment, taking direction from senior staff.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring all dishes are presented according to the restaurant's standards.
• Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of hygiene practices, food safety standards, and health regulations in a kitchen setting.
