We are seeking a talented Commi I to join our culinary team at Singell Tea Estate. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience who is passionate about cooking, especially in North Indian , Continental , and local cuisines of West Bengal . As a Commi I, you will be working closely with the Sous Chefs and other kitchen staff, contributing to a high standard of food preparation and kitchen operations, while also supporting menu planning, food safety, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
• Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook dishes in various kitchen sections, including North Indian, Continental, and local West Bengal cuisines, ensuring consistency, taste, and presentation are maintained.
• Recipe Execution: Follow the recipes and presentation guidelines set by senior chefs and the culinary team, while also providing input for new dishes or improvements to existing ones.
• Kitchen Operations: Maintain cleanliness and organization of your assigned section, ensuring proper handling and storage of ingredients.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Sous Chefs and other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations, efficient communication, and timely service delivery.
• Food Quality & Presentation: Ensure all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant's standards, with a focus on taste, texture, and visual appeal.
• Training & Development: Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff and Commi III. Share knowledge and ensure team members adhere to best practices in food preparation and hygiene.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing the inventory of ingredients and supplies for your section, ensuring the kitchen is stocked appropriately for daily operations.
• Compliance with Hygiene Standards: Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation regulations, ensuring the kitchen and food preparation areas remain clean, safe, and hygienic at all times.
• Guest Satisfaction: Support the culinary team in ensuring high guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional food quality and consistent standards of excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a professional kitchen, with hands-on expertise in North Indian , Continental , and local West Bengal cuisines .
• Skills:
• Strong cooking and food preparation skills, particularly in Indian and Continental cuisine.
• Good knowledge of kitchen tools, equipment, and techniques.
• Attention to detail in food presentation and consistency.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm and organized approach.
• Familiarity with kitchen safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Education:
• Formal culinary training from a recognized institution is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards is essential.
• Personality Traits:
• Passion for cooking, with a strong desire to learn and grow.
• A positive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Ability to handle pressure during peak times while maintaining high-quality standards.
