Job Summary

:

Bakery House is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Commis II/iii to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for continental cuisine, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a Commis II/iii, you will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in preparing high-quality dishes and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

:

Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of continental dishes according to the standards set by the Head Chef. Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen. Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant. Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Support the kitchen team in various duties, including chopping vegetables, preparing ingredients, and plating dishes. Monitor stock levels and report any shortages to the Head Chef or Sous Chef. Assist in the storage and rotation of food items according to established guidelines. Participate in training sessions and contribute ideas for menu development. Adhere to all health and safety regulations.

Requirements

:

Previous experience as a Commis Chef or similar role in a continental cuisine setting. Culinary school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred. Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. A proactive approach to learning and developing new skills.
