Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and passionate

Commis 1 - Chinese Cuisine

to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have experience in preparing and cooking authentic Chinese dishes while maintaining high culinary standards and hygiene practices. You will assist senior chefs in food preparation, ensure kitchen efficiency, and uphold food safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes, including stir-fries, dumplings, noodles, rice dishes, and soups. Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food preparation. Follow standard recipes and plating techniques to maintain consistency in food quality. Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients to maintain freshness. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, following food safety regulations. Assist in portioning and garnishing dishes as per restaurant standards. Monitor kitchen stock levels and report any shortages to the chef. Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including proper handling of kitchen equipment. Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Support in training junior staff as needed.

Requirements:

Experience:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Chinese cuisine.

Education:

Diploma or certification in culinary arts is preferred.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques and ingredients. Ability to work efficiently in a team environment. Good time management and multitasking skills. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Work Environment:

Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment with flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
