Job Description


:Job Title : Commercial Project ManagerMission/Position Headline:Ensuring the Project financials are recorded, monitored and controlled, both with respect to cost and time, including advanced heads up on likely deviations to the budget and targets. Acting as a trusted partner to the respective Project Manager in all other areas with the objective of executing the project according to the defined Project Management (PM) standards, customer requirements and the applicable Financial Reporting Guidelines (FRG and as per Ind AS for the local GAAP reporting). A professional collaboration between the CPM and the Project Manager (PM) is key for the overall project success.Leading a cross functional finance team with highest levels of motivation, delegation and in the process develop talents for future projectsAreas of Responsibilty:

  • Project Controlling throughout the project life cycle
  • Supports the PM in managing and optimizing targeted Project cost with due professional care (e.g. Project cost , Cashflow, Assets )
  • Is actively involved from project initiation phase
  • Drives the review and evaluation of the contract conditions incl. all attachments, ensures examination by Legal, Tax; ECC etc.
  • Presents financial status, risk and claim management and commercial topics in the project status meetings
  • Ensures correct methodology for evaluation of risk and opportunities as defined, e.g. in FRG, PM guidelines
  • Supports the PM in identifying, evaluating, assessing risks & opportunities, strategies and response activities
  • Ensures together with the PM the adherence to internal controls (RIC), incl. ICFR
  • Ensures an adequate handover phase , examines the commercial and contractual feasibility and transferability
  • Drives the review and evaluation of the contract conditions incl. all attachments, ensures examination by Legal, Tax; ECC etc.
  • Presents financial status, risk and claim management and commercial topics in the project status meetings
  • Ensures correct methodology for evaluation of risk and opportunities as defined, e.g. in FRG, PM guidelines
  • Supports the PM in identifying, evaluating, assessing risks & opportunities, strategies and response activities
Manage Project finances :
  • Ensures the accuracy of cost and pricing calculation as well as overall project books and records, incl. recording of such in appropriate systems, e.g. SAP
  • Prepares commercial documentation for regular project status meetings and ensures the accuracy of the commercial project data (i.e. FC, MIS, cash flow, etc), handles Audit requirements
  • Actively involved in Asset management, timely capitalization
  • Ensures compliance with Siemens FRG and local GAAP requirements, Local statutory regulations
  • Supports the PM in identifying, minimizing non-conformance costs and establishing an appropriate reporting structure
Manage the risk, contract and claims :
  • Ensures compliance with LoA guidelines for commercial aspects, e.g. risk management process Conducts Supplier contracts/claim/change order negotiations with regard to commercial and legal aspects together with PM and procurement and ensure that they are duly incorporated into contracts/ contract amendments etc
  • Identifies, assesses, responds, monitors, reports, escalates all commercial risks, e.g. calculation, tax, insurances
Manage compliance to standards, rules and regulations :
  • Ensures Leads project members to act according to the Business Conduct Guidelines and establishes a culture of trust and integrity (e.g. adherence of tax regulations, ICFR, Signature rights, segregation of duties, EHS)
  • Involves the respective corporate governance units (e.g. Compliance, Legal Units, HR), if required
  • Ensures proper execution of all tasks with all relevant stakeholders, i.e. SFS (e.g. financing, insurance, guarantees, currency & commodity hedging), CF (e.g. AC, Taxes, Treasury, Audit), RIC incl. OR, Legal and Compliance, HR (incl. Delegation process), ECC, Customs etc.)
  • Ensure Coordination between Support Procurement and logistics and site readiness for execution if applicable
Education and Experience :
  • Project based controlling experience in similar sized project (multi million EURO sized budget) and running over multiple years in a single location.
  • Ideally Commercial Project Manager Certification according to PM@Siemens curriculum or IPMA / GPM standard at least 5-7 years experience in construction industry for full lifecycle project controlling of similar size and time horozones
  • Professional commercial knowledge. Minimum bachelor of commerce degree and a professional course in management (cost accountancy / chartered accountancy / MBA in finance etc.)
  • Fluent English spoken skills and outstanding communications skills with internal key stakeholders (Legal, Tax. Insurance, accounting, Procurement, local entity management
