We are looking for a Commercial Construction Risk Manager to help support our business unit, Granite Risk Management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Construction Risk Management:
+ Work with clients to provide pre-close and post-close construction risk deliverables on their projects and provide expertise and consulting on active projects.
+ Pre-close client deliverables include budget feasibility reviews, geo-technical reports, environmental reports, soil assessment, any other required per standard commercial underwriting requirements.
+ Post-close client deliverables include construction risk oversight of construction projects.
• Team Leadership:
+ Lead commercial construction risk management team.
+ Coordinate with vendors to provide due diligence deliverables required for commercial loan underwriting and post-close construction risk management services.
+ Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance productivity and morale.
• Client Relations:
+ As the Subject Matter Expert, onboard clients, negotiate client contracts, provide top quality deliverables to clients, manage vendors and train staff.
+ Coordinate with vendors to provide required services.
+ Foster a collaborative work environment to enhance productivity and morale.
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
+ Manage client relationships through environmental assessment to site selection and funds distribution.
+ Negotiate contracts and resolve any issues or disputes that arise.
+ Develop and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Financial Management:
+ P&L responsibility for the commercial vertical within Granite
• Risk Management:
+ Participate in the strategic planning of the company, including business development, market analysis, and expansion initiatives.
+ Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships.
+ Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
• Quality Assurance:
+ Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
+ Ensure that all projects adhere to risk management and safety protocols.
+ Conduct regular risk assessments and adjust project plans as necessary.
+ Ensure that all construction activities meet or exceed quality standards.
+ Implement quality control processes and inspections.
+ Address any quality issues promptly to avoid project delays or rework.



Qualifications WHAT ABOUT YOU? You have...

• Experience: Extensive experience in commercial pre-construction planning, preferably from an EPC or construction engineering company, or as a commercial loan underwriter.
• Client Relationship Building: Business development, while delivering on client SLA's
• Education: A bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED AP) can be advantageous.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, financial management, and cost control.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Negotiation: Strong negotiation skills for dealing with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
