  • Handling of stores activities which includes inventory Management, space utilization, physical verification, Material receipt & issuance.
  • Ensures issuing of RFQ, evaluation of Offers & finalization of Orders.
  • Obtains EPCG License for Import of Capital Goods to avail Duty benefit & redemption of License for releasing BG & Bond.
  • Customs Clearance for Imported Goods.
  • Ensures Physical verification of Inventory / Stocks.
  • Disposal & Sale of Obsolete & Scrap Material.
  • Maintains Stock Levels of Critical & Insurance Spares and Materials follow up with vendors to get on time delivery
  • Achievement of the Business Plan for the Financial Year.
  • Execution of Internal Business Processes to ensure higher reliability & optimum utilisation.
  • To Ensure Customer satisfaction of all Stake Holders.
  • Increase in Productivity & Reduction in Cost per ton and Ensuring Innovation Projects to enhance Productivity & Quality and reduce Cost.
  • Training and Development for all the Team Members.
  • Ensuring EHS Compliance & Good Housekeeping at Workplace.
  • Development of MIS report for Material Management.
  • Developing a direct manufacturer and distributors contact for cost control & increasing the credit
  • limit.
  • Purchasing and delivering the materials at right time in case of emergency shutdown work.
  • Monitoring the stores activities.
  • Common materials inventory monitoring & procurement follow up.
  • Payment follow-up with accounts department after sending the approved GGR from site.
  • Audit carried out every month for smooth operation.
  • Planning & Implementation of ISO activities & Safety requirements in department
  • Review and monitor the department objectives.
  • Vendor data base & vendor development
  • Stock verification and reconciliation.
  • Kaizen & Cost saving initiatives
  • Effectively managing and utilizing manpower
  • Identify the safety needs of personnel and provide them safety gadgets and ensure safe work culture.
  • Implementation and maintaining of ISO standard requirements and Responsible for creating awareness and implementation of best practices.
Ideal ProfileQualification and Experience
  • Graduate in Engineering with 5 to 15 Years Experience in Commercial operation in procurement, Negotiation skills, stores functions and stock inventory are essential. Should have experience in Port Sector.
  • Knowledge in ERP systems (SAP, MM module, Ariba)
  • Must be aware of various standards, codes and practice
  • Experience to Lead Commercial Function at Site for planning, procurement and Inventory Control of Materials & Services.
  • Ability to carry out assigned projects to their Completion within minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently with a multitude of tasks.
  • Functional Expertise:
  • 1.Procurement and services
  • Procurement of Mechanical Machinery/Equipment's from Domestic & Overseas suppliers involving Quality/Technical evaluation, cost estimation, commercial terms & price negotiation, finalizing and executing purchase orders (local & Imports) in close co-ordination with finance department.
  • Operation related Services/Contracts basis of Internal Cost Estimation, prevailing market conditions and dynamics, business potential, prevailing rates of other locations, availability of optimum and necessary resources like equipments and manpower and local issues, finalizing and executing service contract (or Service Orders).
  • Inventory value & quantity as per Best of the Industry norms and standard practice to avoid much losses
  • 2. Vendor Development
  • Identifying and developing reliable vendor/ supplier base in India and abroad and developing long-term partnerships with them, Involved in developing alternate vendor base for spearheading import substitution initiatives.
  • To get the more competitive offers & resulted to be get Better pricing/rates to maintain the Operation cost at minimum/optimum level
  • Knowledge of Manpower based contracts & Job based contracts
  • 3.Material Management:
  • Streamlining the process of supply chain right from the creation of Purchase requisition till the delivery of material and maintain proper Inventory level to ensure timely and constant availability of production material in co-ordination with user department and Vendor.
  • Monitoring and maintaining of proper Inventory level by coordinating with stores department.

  • Close Monitoring of the Market demand & supply for the procurement decision to get the material in lower rates before hike/price rise trends,
  • OEM spares to be developed for value for the money or innovate the ideas to develop the alternate of the OEM spares thru local vendors to avoid the monopoly and dependency. In other word i.e. exploring & Implementation of the Innovative procurement process.
  • 4.Bid Management:
  • Preparation and scheduling of E-Tender, after closing of tender evaluation of the vendors technically and commercially, Scheduling of Reverse Auctions (Type-English), Conducting and monitoring of E-Auction and Awarding of Purchase/Service Orders.
  • 5.Timely finalization of Orders.
  • Time frame are below for finalization of the Orders, Cr - 21 days, after technical clearance from the user dept. and Cr abv. - 45 days (thru CPC)
  • 6. Team Management
  • Co-Ordination & Interaction with Customs, DGFT, IOC, Weights & Measurement Dept, PESO, SEPC etc for the ensuring the compliance of the documents in line with Act / Rules.
  • Actually its a close liasion work to complete the work on time to avoid the penalty, interest, late fee etc.
  • Guides and mentors commercial and stores team at the port
  • Experienced in managing budgets, resource allocation, and procurement for new projects, maintenance and operation activities
  • Aware of all environment regulations and statutory requirements
  • Good knowledge of various national and international design codes and practices (including those for safety)
  • Good knowledge of various statutory requirements (factory inspector approvals, dock safety regulations, IE approvals etc.)
  • Liasoning with statutory bodies (Independent engineers, port authoritys,factory inspector approvals, Weights and Measurement, dock safety approvals etc.)
  • Excellent Written, Verbal & management skills
