Job Summary:

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to perform various machining tasks such as drilling, milling, and turning. The role requires precision and attention to detail to produce high-quality components according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate CNC machines: Prepare and set up CNC machines for production, including installing workpieces, tooling, and machine attachments.
• Read and interpret blueprints: Accurately read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
• Programming: Input CNC programs or manually program machines as needed to control the path of the cutting tool and achieve the desired dimensions and finishes.
• Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet quality and accuracy standards. Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely. Report any malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, including quantities produced, machine settings, and any issues encountered.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure machines are operated safely.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality within the production process.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in CNC machining or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
• Proficiency in operating CNC machinery and tools.
• Strong understanding of machining processes and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC programming and G-code.
• Familiarity with precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
