Job Title: CNC OperatorJob Summary: The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce precision parts and components according to engineering specifications. The role involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, ensuring the quality of produced parts, and performing routine maintenance on equipment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Machine Setup:
  • Prepare and set up CNC machines for operation by installing and adjusting tools, fixtures, and machine attachments.
  • Load raw materials into the machine and select appropriate cutting tools and speeds.
  • Conduct test runs to ensure the machine operates correctly and adjust settings as necessary.
  • Operation:
  • Operate CNC machines to produce parts and components according to specifications.
  • Monitor the machining process and make adjustments to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Inspect finished products for defects and measure parts to ensure they meet specifications using precision measuring tools.
  • Maintenance:
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to minimize downtime.
  • Report major machine malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular quality checks on parts produced to ensure they meet technical drawings and quality standards.
  • Record and document production output and quality control results.
  • Implement corrective actions for any identified defects or inconsistencies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production runs, and maintenance activities.
  • Complete production reports and communicate any issues or delays to the production team.
  • Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in CNC machining preferred.
  • Previous experience as a CNC operator or in a similar manufacturing role is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of CNC machine operation, programming, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and G-code programming.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
