We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The CNC Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce high-quality components and parts according to specifications. This role requires technical expertise, a commitment to quality, and adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Setup and Operation:
• Prepare and configure CNC laser cutting machines based on production work orders and specifications.
• Load and unload materials such as metal, plastic, or wood onto the machine bed.
• Perform routine alignment, calibration, and adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.
• Programming and Troubleshooting:
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CNC programs to understand cutting patterns.
• Input, modify, or troubleshoot CNC programs as needed to meet production requirements.
• Diagnose and resolve issues with machine operation or cutting quality.
• Quality Control:
• Inspect finished parts using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure they meet specifications.
• Perform visual and dimensional inspections during and after production runs.
• Identify and report any defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Maintenance and Safety:
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as cleaning lenses, replacing consumables, and lubricating components.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure a safe working environment.
• Documentation and Communication:
• Record production data, including material usage, machine settings, and output.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and resolve issues.
• Provide feedback on equipment performance and recommend improvements when necessary.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC machining is preferred.
• Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines (e.g., CO2, fiber lasers).
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and instruments.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and procedures.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift materials and components weighing up to [specific weight, e.g., 50 lbs].
• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing or industrial setting with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
